A cause

As a person who has struggled with depression on and off this story touched my heart.

A cosmetic company (Beauty From The Earth) is raising awareness and funds for this amazing cause. It's a topic often times avoided, but one that should be discussed more often.
You can purchase two colors from Beauty from the Earth (http://www.bftecosmetics.com)
Please help spread the work and visit http://www.zachsfriends.org
I pray that we can get the word out and help young teens realize that they aren't alone. There are people to help.

I hope you can take time to purchase or at lease visit the site.

Thanks guys!:)

A fresh Start!

I found this kinds of interesting since it really fits my life the past few months.
I got to meet these two wonderful, interesting, amazing people. SO down to earth, so caring, so loving and I am not just saying this. Alina walked in my store and HUGGED me and said welcome to our family. She didnt have on a suite, nothing fancy, just an every day casual dress. The passion they bring in the stores and how the products come to life are so amazing. Lev hand blends all our perfumes and can take up to 800 different tried....enjoy their store about fresh...:) Love!

A FRESH START
Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg bottle luxury

It all started with the perfect soap, or rather, a lack thereof. When Fresh creators Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg couldn't find sophisticated, sweet smelling bars to sell in their apothecary-style beauty shop in Boston, they recognized a major gap in the marketplace. There were two types of products: Those that looked and smelled pretty, and those that actually worked. But products that did both—and were naturally based, used the finest ingredients and had sophisticated packaging—were few and far between. By combining their creative energies, Glazman and Roytberg came up with Original Soaps, the first of many fantastic products from their new company, Fresh. When their first order sold out in two days, they realized that they were on to something.
Bar soap was just the beginning. As the brand expanded to include skincare, makeup, fragrance, home, hair, and body care, Fresh gained a reputation as a company that refused to compromise when it came to quality, effectiveness, and everything in between. Based on the philosophy that you shouldn't have to choose between products that look good and products that work well, Fresh became the brand that did both.

As time went on and the popularity of the brand increased, Lev and Alina continued to create products that were not only beautiful, but unique in every sense of the word. Innovations, like their groundbreaking Index Eau de Parfums, a collection of distinct fragrances which includes never before smelled combinations like Fig Apricot and Redcurrant Basil, and their exotic Rice Sake Bath and Sugar Bath Cubes (which triggered the fizzy bath craze) have, and continue to, put Fresh on the beauty map.
Products this fabulous can't live in run-of-the-mill packaging: From exquisitely wrapped soaps, to elegant glass bottles and gorgeous gift boxes, opening a Fresh product is like opening a present. With handmade Japanese and European papers and elegant wire ties, the details are so stunning, it breaks your heart to have to open them. But what's inside the museum-worthy packaging is totally worth the rip.

Whether you lather up with a shea butter-infused vegetable soap or sit by the flickering flame of a lead-free, grenadine-scented candle, just soaking up its incredible scent, Fresh's products have the power to tempt your senses on a number of different levels. Which is why everyone who tries it becomes an instant fan. From beauty editors to beauty addicts, one thing about this brand is constant: To know Fresh is to love Fresh.

I wanted to share some pigments I just used and thought I would review.
They are highly pigmented and smooth, easy to blend.
They have good size samples you can buy for about 10 uses before you buy a bigger.
If you like bright the skittle collection rocks. :)

My life as of June...

Hey guys!!

It has been a really long time since I have posted anything and I am so sorry. For those of you that do not know I left Lush and moved to a new and up coming company based out of Houston. I was super excited and very luck to have two assistant I have worked with before and knew. The bad news is that my health took a BIG toll the last few months and because of this I am not longer there.
Since then I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and focusing on my health, life and what really matters to me. I am no longer going to let people hurt me. Im excited about my new and future adventures.
Once being spending a week in L.A with some old friends that I have not seen in a long time...some over 11 years!!! Kristin who is a great friend from a far that I thank each day we meet at Carlton...we are so much a like in many ways. Angela who I meet last year at Lush who is such a rock star and is someone that works so hard and finally was given what was due! Jennifer who was a close friend back in 6 grade through high school and lived four houses down from me. She is now in films. :) Most of all I will miss not having MAY, GIGI, and TERESA in L.A. with me. These girls have been by my side for two years and so thankful for them....in time Gigi :)
I am so excited about what God and life has in store for me and know that my Angel Grace will take care of me.

22 by lily allen

When she was 22 the future looked bright
But she's nearly 30 now and she's out every night
I see that look in her face she's got that look in her eye
She's thinking how did I get here and wondering why

It's sad but it's true how society says
Her life is already over
There's nothing to do and there's nothing to say
Til the man of her dreams comes along picks her up and puts her over his shoulder
It seems so unlikely in this day and age

She's got an alright job but it's not a career
Wherever she thinks about it, it brings her to tears
Cause all she wants is a boyfriend
She gets one-night stands

She's thinking how did I get here
I'm doing all that I can

It's sad but it's true how society says
Her life is already over
There's nothing to do and there's nothing to say
Til the man of her dreams comes along picks her up and puts her over his shoulder
It seems so unlikely in this day and age

It's sad but it's true how society says
Her life is already over
There's nothing to do and there's nothing to say
Til the man of her dreams comes along picks her up and puts her over his shoulder
It seems so unlikely in this day and age

True Friends

Trust is essential to true friendship. We all need someone with whom we can share our lives, thoughts, feelings, and frustrations. We need to be able to share our deepest secrets with someone, without worrying that those secrets will end up on the Internet the next day! Failing to be trustworthy with those intimate secrets can destroy a friendship in a hurry. Faithfulness and loyalty are key to true friendship. Without them, we often feel betrayed, left out, and lonely. In true friendship, there is no backbiting, no negative thoughts, no turning away.

I have really found the real meaning of friendship the last few months. Nothing has been easy for me...life, love and work....but through it all I have my close friends I so deeply love and charish! You know who you are and I love you for that....here is something I found.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps herself.
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parent or children's first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in her address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after she has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about their problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it (but wouldn't).
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight. (Even if it was with them).
A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Holidays are here...

Yesterday was for sure the start of the Holiday Season for me. The cranky customers, the employees fighten and me pulling out my hair.
Though it is not all that bad, it is a time of year where I remember my loved ones I so dearly miss.
I have a lot of friends, and family that do not live close and it makes me miss them even more. Hearing everyone talk about being with family and close friends and all of mine are out of the city and state.
Though we always remember the good things, there will always be a big whole in my heart for the loved ones that have passed and I so dearly miss.

To all the friends and family out there..I wish you the very best Holiday season and a very happy new year! I love you all so dearly and you hold a big place in my heart. God bless you, and thank you!

Happy Holidays and god bless!

Love you!

The secret

A friend of mine recommended that I read this book...so yes Katrina is reading a book!....

The Secret reveals the most powerful law in the universe. The knowledge of this law has run like a golden thread through the lives and the teachings of all the prophets, seers, sages and saviors in the world's history, and through the lives of all truly great men and women. All that they have ever accomplished or attained has been done in full accordance with this most powerful law. Without exception, every human being has the ability to transform any weakness or suffering into strength, power, perfect peace, health, and abundance. Rhonda Byrne's discovery of The Secret began with a glimpse of the truth through a 100 year old book. She went back through centuries, tracing and uncovering a common truth that lay at the core of the most powerful philosophies, teachings and religions in the world. What Rhonda discovered is now captured in The Secret, a film that has been viewed by millions around the world. The Secret has also been released as an audio-book and printed book with more than six million copies in print. The Secret explains with simplicity the law that is governing all lives, and offers the knowledge of how to create - intentionally and effortlessly - a joyful life. This is the secret to everything - the secret to unlimited happiness, love, health and prosperity. This is the secret to life.

small world in retail

So today I had interviews for my holiday help. This nice young lady comes up for the interview and she looked so familar to me but lord who knows since I am kinda a mall whore. I have worked in malls from Texas to Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas so who would have known. We finished our group interview and she came down to the shop to see me. We started talking and she asked me if I worked in West Oaks Mall in Houston, Tx...I was like yes...OMG I was her very first boss when she was 16 years old and I was a store manager in 1999...wow almost 10 years later she would once again come work for me. Who would have ever thought. I guess I am not that bad of a boss after all. :)

Three weeks into the new...

Yes it has been three weeks into the new job at Lush Handmade cosmetic.
Boy do I have a story to tell.
We get to LA and get to the Hotel at MIDNIGHT Cali time and find out we have no reservation, and NO open rooms....what?
OMG, we are so tired.
Finally they tell us to head four spots down to a Motel...okay I can do a motel for one night and it will not be that big of a deal.
Well....so I thought! They have ONE room that just opened up at the last minute, wait it is midnight.
There is this woman that is picking at a Palm tree and comes over to the desk man and says "you own me 15$" the man replies "I already paid you for the other night".
Four Texas girls standing at a MOTEL with our luggage and we hear all this.
We are like Oh shit..this is not good....so next we had to wait for the damn room to be cleaned...(last minute) and finally it is cleaned.
I had to take my 60 pound luggage, purse, computer bag and the 8 pound binder up two flights of stairs.
Finally we make it to the one room...for the four of us.
Gigi then looks in the shower and says, guys we need to shower with our shoes on it has black on the ground..,ok we can do that, so I am like that is ok.
Then I walk in there to look at it, and decided to look at the toilet. I lift the lift the lid, and in my ghetto voice, neck rolls and all HELL NO...there is pee everywhere.....
Oh wait it gets better.
So Gigi is like ok...grabs the covers and a BUG comes out....then she says oh hell no and walk out. By this time it is already 1:30am. I have to call and just be straight blunt with the lady and tell her we are not staying here, so find another place to stay. She replies with "Welcome to LA".........LORD..What the heck
so we are off again in the middle of the night walking down Ocean Blvd, in Santa Monica, Ca carrying our luggage...about three blocks and we get to a Holiday Inn..thank goodness..
OH wait, they will not take the company credit card over the phone, so Gigi had to put it on her personal credit card..this sucks.
So after this night we all bonded, laughed and were so tired we crashed about 2:30am and head to our first day at work with Lush....what a night it was.

Negitive People

This is something great for my current situation. I love it! Enjoy!

Negative PeopleThis is something to think about when negative people are doing their best to rain on your parade. So, remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing, and cares less, tries to make your life miserable.A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded: " Rome ? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty. You're crazy to go to Rome .. So, how are you getting there?""We're taking Continental," was the reply. "We got a great rate!""Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. " That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome ?""We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome 's Tiber River called Teste.""Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks its gonna be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump, the worst hotel in the city! The rooms are small, the service is surly, and they're overpriced. So, whatcha' doing when you get there?""We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope.""That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome .."It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at no extra charge!""Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope.""Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican , a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me.Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me.""Oh, really! What'd he say ?"He said: "Where'd you get that crappy looking Hairdo?"

My Rocks

We all have times when we need to lean on someone. Those people really do not get the Thank you they deserve, Mine happen to be my parents.
I thank god every day for such an amazing mother and father. I wouldn't trade them for the world.
They love me for me, no matter how bad I screw up or fall down they are there to pick me up and say "stop being an ass and get up".
I can not even imagine not having them as part of my life. There is a love that can never be explained.
I love you, and thank you

By: Philosophy

Some of the greatest stories ever told began in the hearts and souls of some of the most broken down people in the world.
They did not seek sympathy or charity. They sought courage and faith. They took long and humble journeys only to finally reach some of the highest mountain tops in the world. They didn't try to shine, but they inspired. They were lights to the world who showed us that we could be lights too.

New Opportunities

Sometime life brings things to us we do not understand or even know why it happens, but I am starting to think Im on the right path this time.
I am no longer with Estee Lauder (Origins) and will be soon working for Lush Cosmetics.
July 21 I will be leaving for Santa Monica for a two week training. I will be right on the beach! What else can I ask for.
I am going to do my best, rock that store to double increases and show them I am a great manager and worthy to be a District Manager/Regional Manager.
I will have my goals and dreams come true.
Thanks again to everyone that has supported me over the last two weeks. God Bless you.
I love you dearly! I know who my true friends are.

Thank Goodness for Friends

Sometimes life throws curve balls at you that you do not understand. You can questions things or you can just get motivated to make things better.

I recently had something tragic happen in my life and thank goodness for my friends to help me get passed the time and help me understand it was not me. I am a good person and now know it.

I have always been told I am a good manager but you always wonder if people are telling you this or are you really. I guess I have always been confident in myself because, I have a heart and care about each and every person I hire. Some of my greatest friends are past employees and I wouldn't trade them for anything. 11 years with American Greetings was some of the best times that happened to me. Yes there was times I was pissed, hated it and also wanted to find something else but I can honestly say I met some great friends from that experience.

All I can say is Thank goodness for my all my friends.
I love you with all my heart and couldn't ever repay you for all that you do and have done for me.

Love you guys,

Katrina
